Production of the series and all other Hallmark Channel original content was suspended on March 13, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The series returned for a ninth season in September 2020, before production was suspended again in December 2020 per recommendations by Los Angeles County health officials . In March 2021, it was reported that Home & Family would resume production on March 29, with first-run episodes resuming on April 5 in a new one-hour format, airing on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesday mornings. On March 23, Hallmark Channel announced that Home & Family had been cancelled, and would air its final episode on August 4, 2021. Crown Media and The Hallmark Channel have not made any statements about plans to replace “Home & Family” with another series. The daytime series was only airing three days a week, at 10 a.m.

Hallmark’s ‘Home & Family’ Canceled

Steines, 54, made his first post-Hallmark TV appearance as a guest co-anchor on an episode of “Extra,” last week. As for Ferrare, she now runs her lifestyle blog and is working on a new cookbook that’s set to be released later this year. Mark Steines was once the host of Hallmark’sHome & Familybefore Cameron Mathison took over in his place. Steines filed a lawsuit saying he left due to sexual harassment issues. Crown Media denied the allegations and the lawsuit was later dismissed in January 2020. Another person involved with the series also filed a lawsuit shortly after Steines.
Now that Steines, too, has been fired from “Home & Family” with no notice or chance to announce his leave to fans after six years on the show, Ferrare decided to open up about what really happened during her firing. This is why you don't see Mark Steines on Hallmark productions anymore. Variety reported that some of the claims were settled out of court. Deadline reported in 2018 that executive Woody Fraser was removed by Crown Media after receiving a number of complaints.

Deadline reported receiving the same statement from Hallmark about the cancelation, as did other media outlets. The Hallmark Channel did not give a reason for the show’s cancelation. I think the hosts are genuine and the whole staff seem to genuinely like one another.
What’s Replacing ‘Home & Family’ on Hallmark After the Show’s Cancelation?

When “Home & Family” was first reduced to just airing three days a week, he reached out to “General Hospital” about possibly joining the cast.

"Our dear friend, our very good friend, and my wonderful co-host for years, Mr. Mark Steines, is no longer with Home & Family." The sudden turn of events has left fans of the show stunned and seeking answers, to say the least. "What?! Why?! @MarkSteines is an integral member of the show," commented one Twitter user.
